In the time of the global pandemic COVID-19, Dance Video Project: Alone Together provided a unique opportunity for artists near and far to connect online and collaborate—crossing boundaries of geography, age, language, and institutions. 42 collaborative dance videos were created by 42 artists, March through May, 2020.
14 King’s Academy students and 3 faculty members took part in Alone Together, interacting with participants self-quarantined in Jordan, Czechia, Bulgaria, and the USA, and from all walks of life. Each video was created and edited by three artists, with each artist participating in three such collaborations. With concept and direction by Ryuji Yamaguchi, the project was created in association with Midan: Amman Dance Lab and King’s Academy. The following is a selection of videos from the 42 collaborations. For more videos, visit http://www.midandance.com/
